This one I bought new and unlike the Old Smokey is very basic. It uses an oscillating cylinder rather like the mamod, but look at the crank shaft; cheap or what, just a bent piece of wire. Having said that I have run this and it runs very well so maybe not so bad after all. Managed to singe my hand on the chimney it runs straight up through from the firebox and so gets really hot. The model is in mint condition as I bought it new, nothing to restore here :-(
