weeden Model 930 Static Steam Engine

Weeden manufacured toy steam engines from the late 19th century until 1952 and whilst their earlier models were flame heated their later ones like this were heated using an electric heating element. This one probably dates from the 1940s bought from EBay on 11-Nov-2008 and looking a little sad with not only a rather bad repaint but Oh Dear! that chimney. Looks like my central heating pipes! That will definately have to go. The original did not have a chimney there. By all acounts there was a thin dummy chimney above the steam dome, but well I'm not convinced, I will have to do some more investigation on this. Anyway this is the start of the resto project.
