Mamod MM1

This was bought for me sometime in the 1960s and survived since then in my dad's shed. He gave it back to me a few years ago when my interest in all things steam was re-kindled. I can remember playing with it though I'm not exactly certain what my motives were; did I like steam engines or the fact that I got to play with fire?

This first picture shows a blemish on the boiler end cap which I know I have removed once but it has re-appeared so I may take a closer look at that. The base looks OK in the photo but the paint job is sub-standard and will have to be re-done at some stage. I am now much better at applying paint and the quality of finish I am willing to accept is much higher.
